Munich From Above

I didn't count how many steps it was up to the view tower of the Peterskirche in central Munich, but it was a breeze compared with the 533 steps we climbed to the top of the Cologne Cathedral in January. The view of the surrounding squares and buildings was amazing and the walk to the top of this church conditioned us for the rigorous hike we took a few days later in the Alps. We visited many of these locations during our time in Munich, and while they were just as captivating at ground level, I find that the red rooftops in these photos add a special "German touch."
